Yesterday, Company 47 served as the 1st District Duty Crew, in service from 1800 hrs until 2200 hrs. During that time, the crew of 7 were dispatched to 3 emergencies. Crews responded to an Automatic Fire Alarm in Upper Chichester, a transformer fire in Aston Township, and an Automatic Fire Alarm in Trainer.
Fire Prevention (July 11th 2019)
On July 11th, 2019, Company 47 went over to The Chester Community Charter School for a fire prevention detail. Crews had Rescue 47 on display, along with Chesters Fire Safety Mobile Education Trailer.
Assist To EMS(July 11th, 2019)
On July 11th, 2019, at 01:32 hrs, Company 47 and MICU 45 were dispatched to the 1300-BLK of Adair Road in the Toby Farms section of the township for an Assist to EMS with lifting.
Early morning runs for the Squad. Natural Gas Leak Inside(July 11th, 2019)
On July 11th, 2019, at 01:05 hrs, companies 47, 52, 17, and MICU 45 were dispatched to the 1300-BLK of Harshaw Road in the Toby Farms section of the township for a reported Natural Gas Leak Inside. Prior to our arrival, crews were advised the stove smelled like gas. Crews discovered the pilot was out on the stove. Crews secured the gas line and advised the resident to contact an appliance repair person to come out and look at it. Units were on location for approximately 15 minutes.
Natural Gas Leak Outside (July 10th, 2019)
On July 10th, 2019, while returning from another call, a passerby made Squad 47 aware of a strong odor of gas at 14th and Engle Street. Crews checked the area, but found nothing evident. Crews were on location for approximately 15 minutes.
Natural Gas Leak Inside (July 10th, 2019)
On July 10th, 2019, Companies 47, 81, 17, and MICU 68 were dispatched to the 1000-BLK of Engle Street for a reported Gas Leak Inside. Crews were made aware that there was a strong odor in the kitchen of the residence. Upon arrival, crews found that PECO was already on location and red tagged the stove. Units were on scene for approximately 20 minutes before returning to the station.
Smoke Detector Activation(July 10th, 2019)
On July 10th, 2019, Companies 47, 52, 17, and MICU 45 were dispatched to the 1200-BLK of Elson Road in the Toby Farms section of the township for a smoke detector activation. Crews found a faulty detector.
Automatic Fire Alarm(July 9th, 2019)
On July 9th, 2019, Companies 47,81, 17, and MICU 81 were dispatched to the 2200-BLK of W 9th Street for a reported Automatic Fire Alarm. Crews found the alarm was accidentally tripped.
Residential Building Fire(July 8th, 2019)
On July 8th, 2019, Companies 47, 52, 17 (DUTY 17) MICU 45, and RIT 39 were dispatched to the Toby Farms section of the township for a reported Residential Building Fire. Crews arrived with smoke coming from a second floor back bedroom. Crews
discovered a power strip on fire behind a nightstand. We removed the power strip and used a TIC to check for hot spots along the carpet and wall. Crews were on location for about 30 minutes.
Accident with Injury Reported(July 7th, 2019)
On July 7th, 2019, crews from Station 47, 52, M100A, and AMB 52 were dispatched to the Toby Farms section of the township for a reported accident with injury, involving a motorcycle. Crews helped to package the patient for transport, and cleaned up fuel
that was spilled on the roadway as a result from the accident.
Chester Townships Jazz Festival (July 6th, 2019)
On July 6th, 2019, crews stood by at Chester Townships Jazz Festival. Crews set up a water sprinkler and had apparatus on display for the residents of the township in attendance to look at.
Duty Crew(July 5th, 2019)
On Friday, July 5th, 2019, Station 47 served as the 1st districts duty engine, in service from 1800 hrs until 2200 hrs. During that time, the crew of 7 handled 2 calls. Crews responded to a cardiac arrest in Boothwyn, and was then directed to a Carbon Monoxide Alarm in Aston Township.
Firework Detail(July 4th, 2019)
On July 4th, 2019, the officers and members from Station 47 took part in a firework detail for Aston Townships annual 4th of July Fireworks.
